Parents and Children at Home

Hi everyone!
Just a quick message to my beautiful students who are learning from home at the moment. You are missed dearly here at school. Do not forget what an important part of our class you are, even though you are not here.
Parents, please phone the school if you need to contact me.
Please see below a list of some things you can be doing to continue your learning at home.
Just click on the headings below and they will take you where you need to go!

You already have your homework sheets glued in for the rest of the term. Please continue to complete your homework each day.

It is vital that you keep practising your Sitton Words every day! Students need to be able to spell the first 400 words and read the first 500.

Your logins are in your homework books.
Try to do at least 15 minutes of typing each day. Touch typing is one of the most valuable skills to have. I will be checking our Typing Club leader board every day.

Your logins are in your homework books.
Keep reading! I will be checking Literacy Pro every day to see who is still doing lots of reading and quizzes. I am updating my leader board in the classroom every couple of days too. Some people are VERY close to receiving their blue or red certificates.

Your logins are in your homework books.
There are specific Literacy and Numeracy activities that I have selected for you to complete.
This is a wonderful website to help you write narratives (stories). Your story must have a character, setting, problem & solution and don't forget to use lots of adjectives and adverbs!

Students of Room 23 are brilliant at their times tables. Keep working on your times tables every day. There are many websites, apps and games to play to use to help you learn these.

Top Marks money game. Don't forget to use Australian Dollars (AUD).

Ducksters (science)
We are currently learning about states of matter. You can also research any other science concepts that interest you!

Art Hub

Get creative with some directed drawing!

The Department of Education has also set up a Learning at Home site online for students to continue their learning at home.

"What Makes Me Special" Presentations

In Weeks 4 and 5 students delivered their 'What Makes Me Special' speaking and listening tasks. I was so impressed to see the effort that went in to their presentations, props, posters and PowerPoints. It was a lovely reminder of just how special and unique the children of Room 23 are!
Our focus now is to make sure we do lots of rehearsals so that we don't look at our notes too much and to use expression in our voices.
